Intelligent and Independent

Finally finished!!

My first Disney Princess fan-art (okay, I've actually done a lot of Disney Princess fan-arts, but this is the first one to be submitted on DA).

This is Belle wearing the 2011 Alfred Angelo wedding dress* inspired from her dance with the Beast in the ballroom scene. It took me 2 days to finish. The first day to draw Belle and the wedding gown she wears. The second day to draw the background (I actually had some sort of war with myself, whether or not should I add a background. Finally, I decided to add background).

The enjoyable part was when I draw the design on the bodice, while the most frustrating part was when I draw the drapery on the gown's skirt. It was really frustrating because I couldn't keep getting the right shape, but eventually, after a LOT of attempts, I finally get the right shape. Then, there's another frustrating part: when I draw the drapery's folds for details, I realized that I had been drawing it EXTREMELY detailed. So I had to erase it and start all over again, and after a few tries, I finally get it 'just right'.

I decided to draw a necklace around Belle's neck and three roses on her hairbun for the finishing touches, because I feel it's kind of plain without them.

I also quite enjoy at drawing the roses that twist around the pillar and the wall.

Oh, and one more thing: if you look at this deviation's title, you might get confused, but that's because I can't think of any other titles, and besides, both "intelligent" and "independent" were part of Alfred Angelo's inspiration to create the Belle-inspired wedding dress.

*In case you didn't know, in 2011, Disney collaborates with Alfred Angelo, a bridal gown company and manufacturer, to release a collection of wedding dresses inspired from some of the Disney Princesses.
